Police Rescue Osun Market Leader From Kidnappers

Alhaja Adunni Adegbokun, president of market women of Kajola-Ijesa in Atakunmosa-East Local Government Area of Osun State, who was kidnapped 10 days ago by gunmen have been rescued by the police.

Mr. Olufemi Olanipekun Oyeleye, Osun State Commissioner of Police, confirmed the development.

She was rescued along Ikire expressway by a police patrol team from Ikire Divisional Police Headquarters.

Speaking through ASP Egbedele Ajibade, the Police Public Relation Officer of Osun State Police Command, the commissioner said policemen had been on the trail of the abductors of the woman.

He said the victim was taken to Oluyoro Private Hospital in Ikire for first aid treatment immediately after she was rescued and later moved to the Police Clinic in Osogbo for comprehensive medical attention.

The police boss said that the businesswoman was eventually handed over to Alhaja Awawu Asindemade, the Iyaloja General of Osun State, and that she had been re-united with her family members and was in stable condition.

The Kajola-Ijesa market was shut since Alhaja Adegbokun was abducted at her residence at Araromi Street on May 19, 2016.
