Enugu State Police Command has assured of its readiness for Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.

In a statement by its spokesman, Ebere Amaraizu, the command reminded members of the public of the need to be law abiding before, during and after the election.

Amaraizu warned that the police would not condone any violation of any section of  law as it affects the Electoral Act as well as the peace accord signed by the political parties.

He stated that those who violated the law during the election would be arraigned in court.

“The command has warned in strong terms for all to be law abiding at both the polling centres and collection centres as security operatives working in partnership with other relevant agencies have been directed to fish out would be hoodlums for necessary action.

“The command is set for April 11 general election and has briefed its operatives accordingly,” Amaraizu said.
