Police Arrest Five Over Interstate Robbery

A five-man suspected interstate robbery gang that specialised in vehicle snatching have met their waterloo in Lagos.

The suspects Apolo Ejah; Michael Yakubu; Samuel Adeniyi; Sunday Oda and Eman Najo were arrested in their Lagos hideout after they had successfully snatched a car in Ogun State.

The suspects who were arrested over the weekend were alleged to have robbed one Mr Ologbosere Benedict, at around Aiseno close, Ogijo area of Ogun state and escaped to Lagos State through Ikorodu, a Lagos suburb.

It was gathered that that a men of Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) of Lagos state command, led by Adamu Amadu, a Superintendent of Police (SP) trailed the suspects to Baruwa in Ipaja area of Lagos where they were finally apprehended at about 10:30hrs and the stolen vehicle recovered.

The suspects have confessed to the crime and have been transferred to SARS base in Ikeja for further investigation.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Owoseni, in a reaction, warned criminal elements in the state to desist from using Lagos state as a base as the police in Lagos will continue not only to be on their trail but arrest them.
