Reports emerged at the weekend of moves by Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (rtd.), former Chief of Air Staff, to reach a plea-bargain agreement with the Federal Government in the alleged N22.8 billion arms and salary fraud trial being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Amosu is in court alongside 10 other suspects, including Vice Marshal Jacob Adigun, Air Commodore Gbadebo Olugbenga, Hebron Housing Properties Company Limited, Trapezites BDC Funds, Delfina Oil & Gas Limited, Mcallan Oil & Gas Limited and Pricey Limited.

At the resumed hearing of the matter on Friday, EFCC prosecutor, Rotimi Oyedepo, informed the court that the defendants had begun plea-bargain.

He tendered a draft copy of the terms of the plea-bargain to the court and indicated that the defendants were already in possession of their copies of the terms.

The accused were arraigned by the EFCC on June 29, 2016, on a 26-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, money laundering, concealing of proceeds of crime and conversion of funds of about N22.8 billion belonging to the Air Force to their personal use.
