Victims of snake bite in Kanke local government area of Plateau State  in dire need of anti-venom drugs  are to be assisted  by the Plateau State government.

Dr Kuden Kamshak, Commissioner for Health, stated this  in Jos when Dr Sylvester Gaknung, Medical Director of Miko Memorial Clinic, Anper, made a call on him to do something fast to help the victims of snake bite in the locality.

According to Kamshak, government would soon partner with the affected local governments in the southern and central zones of the state to tackle the problem to prevent the situation from getting out of hand.

Earlier, Gaknung told the state health commissioner that, over the years, he has been  crying to the authorities over the plight of victims of snake bite in that part of the state but nothing has been done to help them.

“In fact, when we cried out last year, a team of medical experts from both the federal and state Ministry of Health came and saw things for themselves with promises unfulfilled,” he said.
