Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state has denied insinuations going round his state that his government has received bailout fund from the federal government.

Lalong who disclosed this at Government House Jos during an interactions with newsmen to mark 100 days in Office, said a certain Bank in Jos delayed the process of the state getting her own bail out   from the federal government.

He promised that even without bail out fund, his government has succeeded in paying five months’ salary arrears to the state workers between the Month of June to date.

According to him, even before the issue of bail out , Plateau state government had made a request to President Buhari  to come to the aide of the state, but regretted  that after  the state House of Assembly  approved the bail out , a Bank wrote from Jos to them that we have not concluded discussion, and as a result of which  Plateau state’s name was withdrawn from  the list of the first beneficiaries  of the bailout.

He said his government had no disagreement with the said Bank as it had even given the state government a facility, and because the government transferred one of its bank account from that bank to another Bank, I guess the bank management was not happy.

Lalong added that it was not the intention of his government to delay payment of workers’ salaries, assuring that outstanding salaries would be cleared as soon as the state gets its own share  of the bail

Plateau state governor  further  disclosed  that his government only secure N4.5 billion loan from Commercial Bank to attend to some  challenges facing  the state ,adding at that  his government has paid five month salary arrears and is  working round the clock to clear  the remaining  arrears  as soon as the bailout fund is received.
