Plateau State Governor-elect, Barrister Simon Lalong of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has  promised to work with his main challenger at the polls, Senator Gyang Pwajok of PDP, to make the state great, just as his supporters trooped out in their numbers to celebrate their party’s governorship candidate’s victory, on the streets in Jos.

Lalong, in his first media interaction at his party secretariat in Jos, after his victory at the poll, Lalong said that he has accepted the mandate given to him by the people of his state and promised to work towards the realisation of the vision and mission of the state as a people, adding; “We must derive strength in our diversity even as we build the Plateau of our dream.”

The Plateau Governor-elect assured his people that peace- building and even development would be one of his core values.

Lalong, who was a former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, charged his supporters to celebrate  the  victory  with decorum, moderation and love both in words and deeds to usher in the dawn of a new era while showing themselves as a people of positive change.

He described his victory as a victory for the whole people of Plateau State, saying that there was no victor, no vanquished.

The former Speaker promised to clear the salary arrears owed state civil servants if he could get loan from the bank even before assuming duties on May 29, assuring  that pensioners’  benefits must also be paid promptly.
