A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in the Ughelli South Local Government area of Delta State, Mathew Ofioguma, has called on all Deltans to give maximum support to Senator Ifeanyi  Okowa whe he assumes duty as state Governor come May 29.

Ofioguma made the call in an exclusive interview with Daily Independent.

Spoke of the need for all Deltans to support the Governor-elect after he might have been sworn-in no matter the political party they belong to so as to move Delta State forward.

Ofioguma also called on politicians not to poison Okowa’s mind against one another in seeking for their personal interests, adding that running down one another for personal gains would do the state more harm than good. Ofioguma        recalled that he started working for Okowa on the firm instruction of Chief David Edevwie immediately after Edevwie lost the PDP’s primary election.

He commended Edevwie for being sportsmanship even when he lost the primary election to Okowa.

Ofioguma noted that Edevwie did not stop at congratulating and embracing Okowa but also used his hard earned money to empower all his supporters to support Okowa to succeed.

In the spirit of building a strong hope and ideas that could bring development to Delta State, Ofioguma condemned a situation whereby some politicians would go to the Government House only to run down their fellow politicians in order to get favour.

He, therefore, urged all politicians to learn how to be their brothers’ keepers towards moving the state forward.
