Anxiously waiting for bailout from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the settlement of the unpaid salaries running for seven months, labour leaders in the state have announced the suspension of the strike action.

The strike was suspended shortly after entering into fresh agreement with the state government.

The State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Jacob Babatunde Adekomi after signing new MoU with representatives of the state government headed by the Chief of Staff, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola directed workers to resume back to duty immediately.

In The MOU jointly signed, workers in the state are to expect payment for 2015 February salary arrears, starting for Monday, 3rd August.

Adekomi said the decision to suspend the industrial action was taken in the interest of the state workforce and the state Government with a vow to resume the strike if the agreements were not honoured on Monday next week.
