The performance of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the Anambra State House of Assembly election on April 11 has continued to elicit reactions from across the state.

The chief priest of Ire-Inwelle deities in Ogidi, in the Idemili North Local Government area of the state, Chief Felix Obiako, believes that oracles and deities in Anambra State were behind the victory of APGA in the Assembly election “to pave way for Governor Willie Obiano to relax and continue in his infrastructural development of the state”.

Addressing newsmen at Ire-Inwelle Ogidi community, Obika noted that Obiano is a traditionalist who respects the ancestors and believes in the efficacy of the spirits, oracles and deities and which earned him victory for APGA in the election.

According to him, “On assumption of office the Governor vowed to sack kidnappers and armed robbers who have been terrorising the state and he had the support of the gods that helped him to clear them.

“It took the people of the spiritual world which Obiano belongs to, oracles and deities for APGA victory, so that Obiano will be free in piloting the affairs of the state”.

Obika, who will celebrate his second Ofala festival come this Saturday also revealed that his Ofala will mark the end of Igweship crisis in Ogidi community and herald the commencement of the installation of a new traditional ruler for the people.

He said Ogidi community had been embroiled in chieftaincy crisis because “it refused to know their ancestors and it is the reason why the people have no traditional ruler.

“But after this April 25 Ofala, this month, in this Ire Inwelle shrine, the Igwe will be produced.”
