?Uncertainty further pervaded the selection process of new Ooni of Ife following the reported demise of Obalufe, Oba Solomon Folorunsho Omisakin.

Omisakin, who is the second in command to Ooni of Ife and leader of Ife kingmakers, passed on in the early hours of Thursday.

He was said to been on sick bed when late Oba Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse II passed on at a London Hospital, after a brief illness.

A visit to his residence at Iremo in Ile-Ife revealed that that relations and people of Ile-Ife were seen discussing the development in groups.

It was also gathered that arrangements are being made by the relations for mourning and burial preparations before the conclusion of selection process of new Ooni.

A source revealed that his demise might not have any implication on the selection process adding that the next in the rank, Lowa of Ife, Oba Joseph Ijaodola may step in to take charge of functions of Obalufe who is said to make official pronouncement of the new Ooni of Ife.

Another source from Giesi Ruling House commiserate with the people of Ile Ife and expressed shock over the development.

The source admonished the rest kingmakers to quicken the process of mourning so that it will not unnecessarily hinder the process of selection of new Ooni.

He described the death as unfortunate saying we shall keep our fingers crossed.
