Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko, has commended the people of the state for heeding his call for continuity of good governance  by ensuring that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got the majority of seats in House of Assembly, winning 21 out of the 26 available seats in the House.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in announcing the outcome of the election, said results of two seats, representing Ilaje Local Government constituencies, declared for the  PDP were subject to ratification by the national office of the commission in Abuja because of violence in the areas during the election.

While speaking at a special thanksgiving service at the Chapel of Grace, Government House, Akure, on Sunday, Mimiko said the success of the party in the election would sustain the peace and development strides of his administration with a view to adding more value to the lives of the people of Ondo State.
Mimiko said, “God has given victory to his people by proving the enemies of peace and progress of the state wrong. God has exalted his name above all other names.

“We prayed hard, we worked hard, God honoured His word; with this, the peace that we enjoy will continue, the developmental strides will continue, all these give us inner joy. We thank God Almighty, we thank the people of Ondo State, we appealed to them to support our party and they supported us.”
