Ogenyi Onazi, Super Eagles midfielder, has been named in Africa’s top five stars for the past week by France Football magazine.
Onazi has struggled to pin down a first-team place at Italian club Lazio, but he grabbed a rare first-team appearance at the weekend when he scored in a 2-0 win over Empoli.
Last week, Nigeria youngster, Alex Iwobi, was also named by France Football in the top five African stars.
The other players picked by France Football are Samuel Eto’o (Cameroon and Antalyaspor), Adlene Guediora (Algeria and Watford), Sambou Yatabare (Mali and Werder Bremen) and Islam Slimani (Algeria and Sporting Lisbon).

This is the young man that holds the mid field for Nigeria and his club. For France to beat Nigeria in the last world cup, Onazi had to be removed. For Italy to beat Nigeria in the world cup in the US, Amuneke and the Bull had to go. I think Onazi is the best in the mid field in Africa. Strickers do not enjoy playing against him and may I ask Mr. Sia Sia to take him to Brazil.
