However, what may prevent the Nigeria number one from participating in the championship, which will end May 3, 2015, is sponsorship.

Speaking in an interview in Lagos on Thursday, Olapade, who placed 6th in Gabon said, “I want to represent Nigeria in Tunisia Open that is coming up at the end of the month.

“I am confident that I can compete among the best in the world, if I have the opportunity to participate in the tournament. But, my major challenge at the moment is sponsorship.

The Otukpo (Olo) champion, however, appreciated Daniel Mayeku whom he said has been his sole sponsor adding there is need for other sponsors to come to his aid.

“Daniel Mayeku has been my sponsor for many years till date, but I don’t know what is going to happen this time around as the elections have just ended.

“I will appreciate if I could have more sponsors to lighten the burden on Mayeku, particularly at a bigger stage like the Tunisia Open.

Olapade is one of the four Nigerian professionals that participated in the Gabon tournament , which included Willy Gift, Basiru Bakare and Chukwudi Okoro.
