Ughelli – The seventeen years of democracy in Nigeria has been identified as one of the best thing that has brought a new dawn to the territorial integrity of the country.

Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Delta State Governor on Youths Development, Comrade Hope George, who stated this recently, said the SMART mantra has affected the political landscape of the state and brought empowerment to the lives of youths in the area of empowerment and appointments.

George appealed to those aiding and abetting pipeline vandalism to give peace a chance, emphasizing that the more oil pipelines they burst, the more the resources got from oil sales are depleted.

Comrade George who is also the Delta State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, urged the Federal Government to fashion out ways to tackle the development challenges in oil bearing communities as a proactive measure to putting an end to vandalism, hostage taking, unrest and violence in the Niger-Delta region.

George commended Governor Okowa on his numerous achievements within one year in office despite the economic challenges and thanked Deltans for their support to the Okowa’s led administration.

He urged Nigerians to guide against anything capable of derailing the hard earned democracy, explaining that the worse democratic government is better than the best military administration.

He said Nigerians have every course to celebrate in a unique occasion such as the one organised by the Delta State Government, especially the sixteen years of PDP administration at the federal and seventeen at the state level.
