Okorocha’s aide mobbed in Aboh Mbaise

The Special Assistant to the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, on Media, Sam Onwunedo, was reportedly beaten up by security agents in the Aboh Mbaise area of the state for allegedly attempting to snatch ballot papers.

According to sources, Onwunedo was allegedly attempting to cart away a ballot box at Ibeku Ward 12, voting Unit 004, when security agents held him and gave him a beating of his life before taking him away from the scene to prevent the angry voters from lynching him.

The House of Representatives Speaker and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Emeka Ihedioha, who hails from, commended the peaceful conduct of the poll in the ares.
He however accused the APC government in the state of dressing some people with fake security uniforms to cause confusion.

Ihedioha commended the people, the INEC staff and security agents for a job well done, even as he expressed optimism that he would be victorious.

In most polling units, accreditation started by 9.30 am while there were smooth operation by both the electoral personnel and the security agents, while the voters conducted themselves peacefully and orderly.
The card readers worked very well, except in few cases where they malfunctioned and the officials resorted to manual accreditation.

The PDP governorship candidate, Ihedioha expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the voters, the electoral officials and the security agents.

He however alleged that the APC government in the state flooded some places with people with fake security uniforms to cause confusion in the area.

At Eziala Enyiogwugwu, the home area of the Minister of State on Education, Prof Viola Onwuliri, voting went very well.
