Okonjo-Iweala Ranks Among Forbes 100 Most Influential Women

Former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has added another feather to her cap, after appearing on the Forbes Magazine Top 100 Most Powerful Women in the World.

Okonjo-Iweala was ranked 48th alongside compatriot, billionaire magnate, Folorunsho Alakija, who was ranked 87th.

In the magazine’s citation, among the qualities that put the ex-minister on the list, which includes world figures such as German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Hilary Clinton, Queen Elizabeth, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Angelina Jolie and Indra Nooyi, was Okonjo-Iweala’s job as finance minister, which saw Nigeria becoming the largest economy in Africa with a GDP of $502 billion.
