Another set of 1,000 house owners, were yesterday, presented with their C-of-Os and other title documents at a presentation ceremony under the Ogun State government’s Homeowners’ Charter programme.

The Homeowners’ Charter, which was conceived by the state government to assist property owners in the state obtain necessary titles for their properties, organised the 11th edition on Thursday.

Speaking at the ceremony, the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Architect Olamilekan Adegbite, represented by the Director of Administration and Supplies in the ministry, Dolapo Adewunmi, assured that all those who have purchased  forms and provided needed information will get their certificates.

He said “they (the house owners) should not entertain any fear at all because you can see that the governor is doing all he can; he is asking us to move as fast as we can.

“People can be rest assured that they will definitely get their certificates in record time. These documents would be recognised anywhere, even in banks”.

In the same vein, Commissioner for Urban and Physical Planning, Bashorun Adebola Adeife, assured speedy collection of the title documents.

“Maybe we are having a short delay but the truth is that, doing it well requires taking sometimes”, he added.

The Commissioner, however, noted that the state government had begun negotiating with the Association of Surveyors who had instituted legal proceedings against the state.

“What the state is doing is to speak with them and reach amicable resolution where it is appropriate”.

One of the beneficiaries, Olaleye Bamgboye, expressed satisfaction with the state government’s initiative.

Though he stated that he had applied for the certificate for over a year, Bamgboye urged other citizens to buy into the opportunity offered by the government.
