To further enhance the knowledge of journalists in digital reporting, no fewer than 20 journalists selected from both print and electronic media have been taken through the rudiments of digital reporting in Abeokuta under a programme organised by Skye Bank plc.

The training which was anchored by a veteran journalist, Taiwo Obe, saw the newsmen taught on how various windows, applications and ‘apptitudes’ are explored to enhance news reporting.

Speaking during the workshop, the Head, Corporate Affairs, Skye Bank, Rasheed Bolarinwa, explained that the 20 journalists have been selected in each of the six states in the South West to undergo the training.

He added that the bank resolved to sponsor the programme with a view to exposing reporters to the emerging trends in information dissemination in the world.

The programme covers image, self-editing and writing on issues affecting the society with a view to turning around the situation and make the environment a better place to live in.

In his submission, Head of Media Relations of the bank, Moses Obajemu Olajuwon, noted that the bank observed that journalists in the country needed to be taught on how to explore and exploit all available resources and opportunities in the new trends in internet facilities and platforms.

Meanwhile, the resource person, Taiwo Obe, said journalists must work on critical issues and see outside the box of proprietors’ financial strength to boost the performance in the sector.

The training which kicked off in Abeokuta, Ogun State, will also take place in Oyo, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo states.
