Asaba – The revenue collection drive by Barrister Chucks Obusom, Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State has put the council in collision with the leadership of Ogbeogonogo Market traders  in Asaba.

Chief Chigbogu Nwobodo , chairman of the market executive, confirmed that traders in the market clashed with revenue officials of the council over revenue collection but refused to give full details of the disagreement.

However,  one of the traders told Independent “the revenue officials were trying to prove to all that the entire market belongs to the council and this led to a hot exchange of words with Chief Nwobodo over the manner they were going about it.

“Other members of the market executive were there and they were complaining that the council chairman is blocking all the means of generating money to run the union.

“They came out to say that being partners with the council,  they also need revenue to deliver their promises to the traders. A lot of changes are taking place in the market, the union chairman is working with the task force members and these people need to be paid as well as other expenses.” he said.
