The Commissioner representing Ethiope West, Okpe and Uvwie on the board of DESSOPADEC, Dr Henry Ofa, has congratulated Rector of the Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe (DESPO), Dr E.C Sogbaike, for the rapid infrastructural development of institution, especially the recent nine buildings that were commissioned by the state Governor, Dr. Emanuel Uduaghan, during the maiden convocation ceremony.

Ofa urged her to keep the good work and that the sky will be her limit.

Addressing newsmen during the convocation, Ofa said: “I have never seen any administrator who will use IGR to do what she (rector) has done; so I want to urge her to keep the work and the sky will be her limit.”

Ofa, who expressed joy over the incoming government, as there is going to be continuity of what Uduaghan had started, urged that the developmental strive should be sustained, especially as it concerns encouraging and support for the rector to keep doing what she does.

“Like for example, the school is in dire need of staff; so they have to be encouraged and motivated with staff.”

The polytechnic, which was established during the administration of former Governor James Ibori, along with two others, has been able to accommodate 12 National Diploma programmes and eight Higher National Diploma programmes.

It is also expected to address the employment and academic issues among the people with the growth in infrastructure.
