The movie industry is run by different sects and caucuses. Probably the most popular of them, especially in the Yourba movie sector is the Odunfa caucus. The caucus consists of legends like Jide Kosoko, Yinka Quadri, Abiodun Lanre and Taiwo Hassan, amongst many others.

The caucus was formed in the eighties when thespians that formed the caucus would converge at 40, Odunfa Street, in Ebutemeta, Lagos just to talk about their works as movie makers. In 1986, these movie makers decided to make it a formal association. Today, they have in their midst most of the talented actors in the Yoruba movie sector.

The caucus, this week announced that they will be celebrating their 30 years of fellowship. They have lined up a list of activities to celebrate the landmark.  The head of the planning committee, Yinka Quadri in a chat with Box Office, said that he gives appreciation to God and his colleagues for a blissful 30 years. He promised that the group will re-brand itself in the coming years and also have a more formal film school so that their legacy won’t die. “Our hope is to have a good time as usual as friends and colleagues and also reflects on the future of our caucus and the movie industry as a whole,” he said.
