Andrew Oche Odoh, Nigeria’s number one professional golfer, will next week redeem his image in the Sun Carnival Challenge at the Sunshine Tours in South Africa after a poor start at Sishen.
Odoh, who had to forego the just concluded Uganda Open for the Sishen qualifiers missed the cut with a performance that he said was below expectation, “I shot +4, +4 and missed the cut.”
In a chat on Wednesday from South Africa, Odoh told Independent, “I opted out of the Uganda Open for the Sunshine Tour. But, it was called off and all players went straight into the event.”
Odoh said, “Well, that’s how golf goes; I have to take the positives to next week’s game – Sun Carnival Challenge.”
The player, who in 2015 also participated in the Sunshine Tour, last won at the CMCL Open, which held at Smokin Hill Golf course, Ilara-Mokin. He has missed out of the four tours titles this year.
The other tours include the West Africa Golf Tour (WAGT) third edition in Abuja where he placed 2nd, Ojerinde Memorial at Otukpo where ended up 7th.
