Nigerian number three professional golfer, Andrew Oche Odoh, on Thursday played his last local tournament at the Lakowe Lakes Golf and Country Estate 2nd Anniversary Championship in Lagos.

Odoh, who won the Lakowe maiden Championship in 2014 had told Daily Independent Golf recently that he was tired of playing in Nigeria, promising to go abroad for fresh challenges.

According to him, “The local scene is boring. I’ve won all, both big and small. There’s nothing I’m going to prove again.

“It is on this ground I told myself that it is time to quit. So, let me go to a new environment where I would be faced with new challenges and that is South Africa,” he said.

However, the Lakowe championship featured top ranking Nigerian professionals, such as Emos Korblah, Sunday Olapade and Kingsley Okpara among others.

Similarly, it is going to be a very busy season for Odoh after Lakowe championship as he has a lot of tournament at hand in South Africa ahead of Sunshine Tour, which begins between October and November.
