Lagos – Andrew Oche Odoh, Nigeria’s number one professional golfer, will take part in the “Uganda Open”, which tees off onAugust 23, 2016 at the Kampala Golf Club.
The Open, which ends September 3, would be Odoh’s second tournament after his failure to defend the just concluded Ojerinde Tour title.
In the same vein, Odoh who is undoubtedly the most travelled Nigerian professional golfer revealed to Independent he would leave for South Africa after the Open.
“I have a lot of tournaments lined up, but I’ll be on my way to South Africa after the Uganda Open,” Odoh said.
Odoh blamed bad weather for his failure to successfully defend his  Ojeribde title that held at the St David Mark Golf Club, Otukpo, Benue State.
“Too much rains disturbed the game. I could not even putt, because I was playing on a mashed course; ball could not roll. In fact, the game had to drag to Monday instead of ending on Sunday,” Odoh explained.
The bad weather which affected the entire tournament was earlier confirmed by the Professional Golfers Association of Nigeria (PGAN), Samson Lawal, saying, “The weather condition was not favourable at all.”
