As OBJ Endorses AFRIMA…

Thanks to its partnership and strong belief in the media network, no activity of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) is ever left out. Thus, the platform is gradually becoming a household name across the African continent.

As preparations for the 2016 edition intensify, it’s good news that the organisers recently paid a courtesy visit to former president, Olusegun Obasanjo at his Abeokuta residence. There is no gainsaying that the gesture was timely and has added a new feather to their cap.

It’s also a thing of joy that the ex number one citizen of Nigeria , contrary to speculations that he may bounce them, gave his support instead and even described AFRIMA as ‘’a unifier of African nations.’’ Of course he charged the visitors not to relent in ensuring that AFRIMA continues to make the desired impact with a call on companies and governments to partner with same.

Mike Dada, President and Executive Producer, had explained that the meeting and visit was ‘’in recognition of OBJ as a former Chairperson of the African Union and an African global icon, a cultural enthusiast and champion of African renaissance.’’

Expectedly, Dada intimated their host with the objectives of AFRIMA which is mainly to unite Africans through the instrumentality of art, music, culture and entertainment…

A welcome development. But there is still much left to be done by the key stakeholders. A school of thought holds that despite its outreach in the continent, there is a cabalistic threat to its smooth operations. In fact that all that glitters is not gold in its inner caucus… Pray it’s addressed.
