NSCDC Reads Riot Act To Vandals in Osun

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence has warned people against stealing or vandalizing Governments Property saying anyone caught will be dealth with accordingly.

The Osun State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Tajudeen Balogun stated this while parading one Taofeeq Waliu who was caught stealing Cables belonging to the Ibadan Electricity Development Company (IBEDC) before Newmen in Osogbo.

Mr Balogun said Taofeeq Waliu was said have scaled the fence of the store located at BCGA Area,Behind Olokooro but was arrested by the store’s security officer after while trying to make exit.

He said investigation on the matter would soon be concluded so that the suspect would be charged to the court of law.

The suspect who confessed to the offence added that he usually sell the cables to some people who inturn give them a token with a promise to assist them if the matter boomerang.

Reacting,the Regional Communication Officer of the IBEDC,Osun Region, Miss Kike Owoeye enjoined people to see themselves as stakeholders by reporting strange movement around IBEDC Property and Sub-Stations to the appropriate authorities.

Miss Owoeye who also appealed to them to help in safeguarding their equipment in their communities assured that the arrested suspect would  serve as deterrent to others.
