Lagos – Christian Chukwu the Technical Consultant of Enugu Rangers International FC has said that the hope of team clinching the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) is very bright.

The former Super Eagles boss made the remark on Tuesday from his Enugu base, while dwelling the NPFL title situation even as he said it was still an open contest.
Commenting he explained, “Rangers have big, big hope to clinch NPFL title this year; yes, it is open among four clubs – Rivers United, Ifeanyi Ubah and Wikki – but, Rangers have better chance than them.”

Expatiating on his optimism he said, “The mood of the players in the camp is very high and Rangers cannot afford to drop any point at home in the remaining games.

“We have only Ikorodu at away and this weekend is Sunshine in Enugu. They will not underrate Ikorodu even if they are going on relegation. Rangers defeated them 4-1 in Enugu; it will be a tough game, but Rangers will survive it,” he said.

On the game against El Kanemi Warriors which is a home game at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium he said it would also not be taken for granted, “El Kanemi will be the decider and the players know what it means to them.”

However, Chukwu hinted that the state government is behind is expected to give the team the needed encouragement towards ensuring that the title will not elude them this season after 32 years.

The Flying Antelopes were dropped from the first spot on the table standing after they lost 1-2 to Shooting Stars in Ibadan during the Week 35 fixtures.
