World football governing body, FIFA, has congratulated Norwich City Football Club for securing a return to England’s elite league, the Premier League.

Norwich secured a place in the highly competitive league for the 2015/16 season after defeating Middlesbrough FC 0-2, in a Championship play-off hosted at the Wembley Stadium on Monday.

In a congratulatory message to the club through its official twitter handle, @FIFAcom, the football body stated, “Congratulations to @NorwichCityFC who have won promotion to the premier league.”

The club secured the win with two goals from Nathan Redmond and Cameron Jerome in a wonderful first half performance of a match worth a potential £120m to the Canaries.

Although Jerome and Alex Tettey were particularly outstanding in the game, the day, May 25, is becoming a lucky day for the club’s manager, Alex Neil.

This time last year, he celebrated promotion to the top flight as Hamilton’s player-manager in Scotland. He has achieved similar feat on the same day in a different country.

In a post-match interview, the skipper, Russell Martin,  said it is “our best of the season so far,” while also giving some hats off to the manager Alex Neil.

This is would be Neil’s first season in English football
