Kaduna State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Elisha M. Sabo, has urged youths to continue to sustain the peaceful co-existence of the country.

Sabo, who was in Kaduna Central Senatorial District in continuation of peace sensitisation meeting with the youths, market women and other stakeholders, said there can never be development if there is no peace among people in the state, adding that “many will live in fear of what may happen, as such there is no plan”.

According to him, the theme of the meeting, ‘Consolidating Post Election Peace Campaign in the Three Senatorial District’, was aimed at preaching peace to the people.

He reiterated that it is only by peaceful living that the elected political officeholders will deliver dividend of democracy.

Sabo recalled that prior to the just concluded general elections, the country was confronted with serious challenges that were capable of jeopardising national security but with patience, the outcome of the election was not only peaceful, but also free, fair, credible and devoid of violence. “To sustain this peace, our elected leaders should make every effort to provide the dividend of democracy to its people by way of fulfilling their electoral promises, ensuring good leadership and respect the rule of law for national development,” Sabo said.

In an interview, the District Head of Kakuri, Alhaji Shehu Tijjani, urged the people in his domain to continue to live in peace as peaceful co-existence is the bedrock of any development.

According to him, the success of the 2015 general elections in Kakuri-Kaduna anchored on regular peace meetings he had with his subjects and entire people in his domain.

He added that NOA decided to hold the peace meeting of the seven local government areas in Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone in his domain because of the way he parleys with the people in his domain on peace accord.
