In an interview on Thursday in Lagos the NGF Vice President, Kunle Dada, affirmed, “The Federation is working round the clock to ensure that the kids get all they need to enhance their performance irrespective of all odds,” he said.

The game which tees off from May 26-28, 2015 has five Kids from the Otukpo Golf Academy ages 5-16 that will represent Nigeria which include Ochigbo Samuel, David Alli, Job Obaka, Inalegwu George and John Alex.

The five Otukpo kids will join seven other junior golfers in the United Kingdom (UK) to represent Nigeria at the kids’ championship in Scotland.

The kids got their qualification at different categories from the recently concluded Lagos International Junior Open Championship which was staged in March this year at the Ikeja Golf Club, Lagos.

The European Championship however, will serve as another qualifier for the best players to participate in the IMG Junior Golf Championship slated for San Diego U.S.A. between July 13 and 17, 2015.

Commenting on the preparations of the kids so far, Otukpo Golf Club Captain, Hon. Owoicho Abel Anyebe revealed, “The Kids are presently in Abuja to process their visas and other travel documents.”

Anyebe added, “The kids have been given a wild card to participate in the U.S. Championship. This means performance in Scotland will not affect their going to U.S.”

The Nigerian kids qualifiers has been on the sponsorship of Kids Golf International (KGI) at the IBB Golf and Country Club, Abuja in the past five years until KGI decided to use the Lagos International Junior Open with a nod from the NGF.
