Nigeria, South Korea To Improve Economic, Parliamentary Ties

Nigeria and the Republic of  South Korea is to improve economic, parliamentary and socio- political relationship that would be mutually beneficial to citizens of both countries. Parliaments of both nations would facilitate the bilateral cooperation .

These were part of the accord reached by Presidential Special Envoy from South Korea led by Senator Lee Ju-Young to President Muhammadu Buhari’s inauguration and Senate President Senator David Mark in Abuja at the weekend.

Specifically, Mark appreciated the international community for the solidarity and support for the smooth transition from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  Goodluck Jonathan to  All Progressive Congress ( APC) President Muhammadu Buhari.

He reiterated that Nigeria and Nigerians have embraced democracy as the best form of government and are prepared to defend its course.

It is on account of this development he stated, that the nation resolved to strengthen all the democratic institutions including but not limited to the National Assembly and the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Mark added that Nigeria will continue to play her big brother role and leadership in the Africa continent. According to him;” Nigeria is ready and willing to partner with any nation that has the expertise  and capacity to improve our commerce and Industry.”

The issues facing Nigeria at the moment he added, includes; insecurity aggravated by Boko Haram insurgents, youth unemployment and epileptic power supply. All these, he requested the international community to help the new administration of Muhammadu Buhari to tackle.
