The volume of bilateral trade between Nigeria and Indonesia is worth four billion dollars according to Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Harry Purwanto.

“The trade volume between Nigeria and Indonesia as at now is about four billion dollars. Coming here, I found a lot of similarities, the Nigerian people are nice; our environment looks same, we both are major powers in our region and belong to developing countries,’’ the ambassador said on in Abuja at an interactive forum of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The ambassador said that Nigeria had benefited more in the trade relation as Indonesia was currently buying not less than $3.4 billion worth of oil from Nigeria and that not less than 20 Indonesian companies were currently doing business in Nigeria.

The ambassador, who would have preferred direct purchase of oil from Nigeria, said that Nigeria only gets $700 million importation from Indonesia market.

He stressed the need for more Indonesian investors in Nigeria, while urging Nigerian investors to take advantage of the relationship between the two countries and invest in Indonesia.

He also called on Nigerians to visit Indonesia during the upcoming Trade Expo slated for October to see products and services by themselves.
