Hon. T. E. M. Ovivi, Ugo Okwagbe 1, the Ovie of the great Ukpedi Kingdom has congratulated Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta State governor, on the 56th Independence anniversary of Nigeria.

This is just as he commended Chief E. K. Clark, elder statesman and leader of the Ijaw nation, for the peace initiative and all the good works he had been doing to bring lasting peace in Nigeria, particularly in the troubled Niger Delta region.

The Ukpedi monarch, who spoke at his palace at Okwagbe, Ughelli South LGA of Delta State, noted that Governor Okowa has added value to democracy, and has done well in the delivery of dividends of democracy to Deltans to the best of his ability based on available resources.

The royal father described Okowa as a detribalised political leader and advised Deltans to pray for him and give him the needed support so that he can steer the affairs of the state to greater heights.

He noted the determination of the Okowa regime to pursue the mantra of prosperity for all Deltans and commended him particularly for the youth empowerment scheme.

He also praised especially the 2016 set of Youth Agricultural Development Entrepreneurship Programme (YAGEP) and the Skill Training Entrepreneurship (STEP) by the office of the job creation officer, headed by Professor Eric Eboh.

The monarch then enjoined the Deltans to key into the dream of Governor Okowa whom he said was ready and committed to making Delta State, the “China of Nigeria.”

The Ukpedi monarch also described Chief Clark as the Desmond Tutu of Nigeria who is a loving light and ambassador of peace that must be commended and seen as a gift to this generation.
