Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Niger state chapter has appealed to non-indigenes who fled the state in their numbers in the wake of the recent presidential and national assembly elections to return and continue with their lawful businesses.

The plea for non-indigenes is coming on the heels of the challenges in sourcing for motor and motorcycle spare parts, a development that has affected both commercial and private vehicle owners as the dealers are mostly the Igbo people who were yet to return after the last polls.

Non-indigenes including adherents of other religions had left Niger state in droves for their states of origins in the wake of the Presidential/National Assembly polls, citing threats to their lives and properties and were yet to return.

Worried by the mass exodus of non-indigenes, CAN chairman in the state, Rev. Musa Dada in his Easter message which took place at the associations’ state secretariat assured of peaceful co-existence and the safety of all Christians and adherents of other religion in the state.

The state CAN chairman who expressed gratitude to God for peaceful polls thus far said, “We thank god for yet another Easter celebrations as usual because Easter celebration is to remind ourselves of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ”.

Dada, who enjoined the entire state citizenry to love one another by being their brothers’ keeper in times of need, said without peaceful co-existence there will not be unity and the stability of the nation.
