Rev David Kings, the Coordinator, Peace Advocacy Impact, an NGO, has urged Nigerians to be tolerant and live in peace with one another irrespective of religious, cultural and ethnic differences.

Kings told a news conference in Lafia on Friday that “peace and unity are veritable tools for national development. Nigerians must strive to maintain them for the nation to move forward.’’

He also urged religion leaders to continue to pray for the peace, unity and progress of the country.

The cleric said sustained prayers would enable the nation to overcome the devilish acts threatening the peaceful coexistence of Nigerians.

He said prayers would also bring about peaceful, credible, free and fair governorship and House of Assembly elections on Saturday.

Kings also appealed to adherents of the two major religions in the country to pray for peace and tranquility during and after the elections.

He called on the citizens to embrace love as the panacea to the myriad of problems bedeviling the country.

The cleric stated that lack of love had given rise to distrust, intolerance, hatred and unwarranted violence among the citizens of the country.

He said the only solution to the problem was for a citizen to see the next person as his or her brother or sister.

Kings said the violence being perpetrated by insurgents, especially in the North East, was due to loss of humanism.
