President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, said the football body would be fully involved in all the activities leading to a successful obsequies of the late Warri monarch, HM Ogiame Atuwatse 11, and the installation of the Olu-designate, Prince Godfrey Ikenwoli Emiko, when the events come up.

Amaju disclosed this at the palace of the Olu of Warri when he led the coach and members of the Warri Wolves on a condolence visit to the regent, Prince Eroro Emiko, chiefs and family members of the late monarch to commiserate with the entire Itsekiri people, saying that the death of Atuwatse 11 was a very painful loss to the NFF in particular.

He said the late Atuwatse 11 participated in most of their events, including the Annual General Assembly two years ago.

Said he: “In all our programmes, he demonstrated passion, zeal and enthusiasm in terms of followership, support and prayers. We will do everything within our means to ensure a successful burial and coronation ceremony when the time comes.”

Amaju who described the Itsekiri people as unique, small but mighty and largely educated with wonderful technocrats in abundance, offered to serve in any capacity and committee he would be attached to during the events and promised to contribute his quota as a proud Itsekiri son of Warri kingdom.

The NFF president, who said his dream was to build a solid structure for football in the country that would stand the test of time, was received at the palace by Chiefs Charles Ikomi, Emma Jones, Ayiri Emami and head of the Ginuwa ruling house, Dr. Uduakpemi Ayu.
