Lagos – The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has sent words of encouragement to Super Eagles forward, Odion Ighalo, who lost his father, Michael Ighalo, early Monday Morning.
It will be recalled that the Ighalo Senior died in the early hours of Monday. He was said to have felt strange under the weather before he finally gave up the ghost shortly after.
In its Twitter handle, the football house said: “Our thoughts at this time are with the family of @NGSuperEagles striker @ighalojude whose Father Paul just passed on. May his soul RIP.”
Also commiserating with the striker, Joseph Dosu, former Nigerian international, said he was sure the Watford of England striker will not be in the best frame of mind now. The former goalkeeper said Ighalo should, however, draw strength from many condolences coming his way and live with the demise as a man he is.
“It is not always easy to lose a loved one, so I know how he is feeling right now. He will obviously not be in the best frame of mind right now, but he should know that the Nigerian football community is on his side. He should take it as a man and move on. May the soul of his father rest in peache,” Dosu said.
