Nigeria Football Federation has bemoaned the first round crash of both the Super Falcons and its peers, the Flying Eagles from the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Canada and New Zealand respectively.

General Secretary of the football federation, Mohammed Sanusi, was particularly saddened by manner the Flying Eagles were bundled out of the championship in New Zealand despite the team’s pre- tournament rating, saying that shoving exit is a wakeup call for the federation and all those who play part in the preparation and execution of both events.

“We are not happy that our two teams that went for the tournament have crashed out, we expected a lot from especially from the flying Eagles but that was not to be. This is a wakeup call and we have to return again to drawing board and look at where we didn’t do well and correct it. And also where you done well you make sure you don’t fall below the standard”

While he expressed profound gratitude for the support of football loving Nigerians, Sanusi assured that federation we do what is needful to ensure better outing for the national teams in future competitions.

He said the federation for now would wait for the the report of technical crew before taking further action.

On the reported interest to hire a Swedish coach to tinker the falcons, Sanusi said he has no comment to make in that regard but assured that the federation would do all that is necessary to support the national teams.
