THE former Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, has congratulated the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, on their elections on Tuesday July 9, 2015.

He also congratulated senators and members of the House of Representatives on their inauguration.

Ndoma-Egba noted that Saraki and Ekweremadu are products of what he described as “landmark elections,” and “change agents.”

“Being products of landmark elections, elections that promised change, they must be agents of change through every legislative activity.

“I congratulate senator Saraki on his election as President of the Senate.

“He has always has bold ideas on the legislative agenda for the Senate.

“Nigerians will appreciate the immediate implementation of the agenda…”

The former Senate Leader equally described Ekweremadu’s election as historic, having returned to office three times in a row and also, a source of pride to the Class of 2003 senators.

“Senator Ekweremadu’s election is historic; it makes him the only member of his class to be elected three times into office as Deputy Senate President.

“It was also, during his first term that the jinx of constitutional amendment was broken. In his second term, we had the constitutional amendment lock jam.”

He urged Ekweremadu to use his third term in office “to seek a resolution for the lock jam and for him to use his wide experience to further enrich the legislative process.”
