A body known as the Anioma Security Watch Network had been inaugurated in Ndokwa, to boost the security of the area. The event took place on Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at the Utagba Uno town hall, Ndokwa West LGA, Delta State.

According to the coordinator of the group in the three council areas, Mr Mathew Ujene, the body is an affiliate of the Delta security Watch Network, which was setup to compliment the efforts of the government agencies in curbing crime in the state, especially at the community level which had been in existence in Ndokwa since the year 2012.

Also speaking, the national coordinator of the group, Rev. Francis Ukwamedu, reminded the people that issues of security is “every bodies business”, and not just for the established security bodies in the country.

Rev. Ukwamedu used the occasion to call on Nigerians to put more efforts in securing the nation, by supplying the needed information to security men.

On the uniqueness of the body to security operations, the national coordinator said the body operates with the communities through effective information system, and the final operations will be carried out by the members of the body in that community, but often by members operating from outside a particular community, this he said is to forestall the ideal of clemency by family members of suspects.

The traditional ruler of Itua kingdom, HRH Obi Agbogidi ll, Obi Uwaoma, admonished members of the group to be good example of the network, and to carry out their duty diligently.

The occasion was well attended by community leaders from the three council areas of Ndokwa.
