NDLEA seizes 1,070 tonnes of cannabis in Bauchi

Bauchi State Command of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has seized 1070.2 tonnes of compressed cannabis and arrested two suspected drug traffickers.

This was disclosed by the state commander of agency, Mohammed Malami Sokoto, in a press statement made available to journalists in Bauchi on Thursday.
According to Sokoto, the hard drugs were seized in Bayan Gari area of the state capital.
The NDLEA boss said that another seizure and arrest of three suspects, including a husband and wife, were made at Bakin Kura area of the state capital.
He said the three suspects were arrested with 54 blocks of compressed cannabis weighing 50.2 kilogrammes, which was part of the over one tonne seized.

The state commander said that drug trafficking and abuse was everybody’s nightmare, hence the fight should be everybody’s business.
