Lagos – Emmanuel Makama, the Nasarawa United captain, said that a top three finish for the Solid Miners is not out of place in the current league season.

The Solid Miners, who endured a torrid time at the beginning of the ongoing campaign, have risen to ninth on the ladder.

“When you check the difference between ourselves and third placed Rivers United, it is just four points,” Makama said.

“We have ten more matches to play. Who knows? Anything can happen.

“Our ambition to finish in the top three is still intact.”

He also praised his side for turning their form around, after a poor start to the NPFL season.

“We didn’t start the season on a sound footing,” he added.

“It was something that worried us a lot and thank God we were able to forget about the early setback and forged ahead.

“I have always stated that this is a team of winners. The boys are always ready to fight.”
