In an effort to pave way for all round development, Muslims and Christians across the globe have been called upon to continue to see themselves as one family.

The Delta State Deputy Governor, Barr Kingsley Burutu Otuaro made the call in his I’d el Kabir message to Muslims said the celebration is all about sacrifice and selflessness as exemplified by Ibrahim to sacrifice Ismael for Allah.

Barr Otuaro said love, sacrifice and unity was needed to overcome the problem of religious extremism, bigotry, animosity and tribal hatred and sued for a change of heart among those championing wanton loss of lives and property across the globe.

He congratulated Muslim faithfuls on the id el kabir and enjoined them to emulate the life of Abraham in all that they do.

Barr Otuaro felicitated with President Muhammadu Buhari on the event and urged Nigerians irrespective of political party, tribe, religious inclination and ideology to rally round him to enable him achieve set goals for the nation in the next four years.

The Deputy Governor lauded the Nigerian military for their gallantry performance in the fight against the Book Haram sect and advised those aiding and abetting them to give peace a change as no meaningful development can thrive in an atmosphere of rancour and acrimony.

He said the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa believes in religious harmony and assured Muslims in the state of the friendship and love of Deltans.

Barr Otuaro said the SMARTH agenda was on course and called on Deltans to offer useful suggestions that would move the state forward.

He thanked Deltans for their support in the last three months and gave assurance that the prosperity assured them during electioneering campaigns will reach them through the policies and programmes of the present administration that are at different stages.
