Telecommunications giant, MTN Nigeria has expressed its determination to partner with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA) in checking the trafficking of illicit drugs.

As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), MTN had supported the operations of (NDLEA) in Lagos State with the donation of a Security Patrol Vehicle.

The donation according to the Director General of the NDLEA, Mrs Roli Bode-George would aid and improve the security condition in Lagos.

Bode-George who received the MTN delegation at the Ikoyi Headquarters of the Agency appreciated the support from MTN.

She said “It takes the collective effort of stakeholders to win the war against illicit drugs. This show of solidarity is highly appreciated and will serve as a motivation to the Agency. This is in line with the fact that security is a collective responsibility. We are inspired that you recognise our role in promoting national peace and security.

She added that any support to the Agency was a wise and positive action in crime control because most criminal acts are induced by drug use. She called on other corporate bodies and individuals to partner with the Agency in eradicating the use of narcotics from the country.
