Mimiko Greets Amuka-Pemu At 80, Hails Kuku Over Success

Ondo  State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has lauded what he described as the noticeable  role of the  Chairman of  Vanguard Media Limited and Journalist, Chief Sam Amuka -Pemu in the development of the  Journalism profession in the country.

Congratulating the veteran Journalist who turned 80 at the weekend, Mimiko said Amuka is an icon of Journalism with visible contributions to the development of the prestigious profession.

He said the Publisher had distinguished himself as an irresistible columnist and firebrand editor who later became an employer of labour in his chosen profession.

The Governor who observed that the Publisher is a noble representative of the fourth estate of the realm said his experience and contributions are still needed to continue to shape the profession and make it more glorious and enviable.

In the same vein, the Ondo state Governor has heaped praises on the former Special Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan on Niger Delta Affairs and Chairman of Amnesty programme, Hon Kingsley Kuku over the success he recorded while in office.

Mimiko, while speaking at the weekend in Arogbo in Ese-Odo local government area of the State during a special thanksgiving service held at First Baptist Church for Hon. Kuku, Mimiko said that the people of the State were proud of the accomplishment of the former special adviser, adding that he was pleased with the array of dignitaries from all parts of the country that assembled in Arogbo to honour Kuku, whom he labelled a worthy son of the State from a humble background.

The Governor, who described the former presidential adviser as a home boy per excellence, added that the entire people of his community love him so dearly as clearly demonstrated.
