The Nigerian Army has threatened to demolish any facilities that host the Boko Haram group in any part of the country.

The threat followed recent suicide attacks on part of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, the latest of which was Thursday’s multiple suicide attacks where 14 persons were confirmed killed.

Addressing the media in Maiduguri, on Saturday, the Commander of Operations, Lafiya Dole, a military operations established to put an end to Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East, Maj. Gen. Yusha’u Mahmud Abubakar, said any facilities used to perpetuate terrorism would be demolished forthwith.

He warned that the military could not be deterred in the war against insurgency, emphasizing that since they had a timeline for the operation against the terrorist, no allowance would be given for failure or drawbacks.

“Any facilities that is used to make bombs or used to dress suicide bombers would be leveled,” he said.

He confirmed that 14 persons were killed in Thursday’s attack on Sajeri area of Ajilari Cross, in Maiduguri, where 39 persons were injured in the suicide attacks carried out by four women.

He said the military would be meeting with all stakeholders: traditional rulers, religious leaders, market women and students to sensitize them on terrorism and what is needed to be done to fight the war jointly.
