Midwife Turned Global Advocate, Felicity Ukoko, Joins WBFA

THE Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA), a leading maternal, newborn, and child health charity based in Nigeria, has welcomed Felicity Ukoko who joins them from Barts Health in the new role of Head of Programmes and Advocacy.

As an award-winning, skilled midwife for over 20 years in the United Kingdom, Felicity brings with her an unparalleled insight into maternal, newborn and child health.

Prior to joining WBFA, Felicity was Project Manager at Barts Health – the largest NHS trust, which recorded 19,000 births per year.

Trained as a midwife in the UK, Felicity has worked in various prestigious London teaching hospitals including St Georges Hospital, Guys and St Thomas Hospital and Queens Hospital in various roles in clinical governance.

These roles included strategic and project management positions within the NHS, with a focus on improving quality of care for women and babies.

Also, she has worked with Imperial College Health Partners, a designated Academic Health Science Network that brings academia and health communities together to improve patient and population health outcomes.
