Organisers of the yearly international trade fairs and exhibitions, Medica and Compamed have promised to give consular support, flight bookings, accommodation, entry tickets, and local transfers amongst other services to Nigerian visitors at the events in order to complement its efforts of offering solutions to challenges in the medical industry.

According one of the organisers,  Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, the events billed to hold from November 16 to 19 this year in Düsseldorf, Germany have  become channels of exporting business for medical device technology providers as well as their suppliers across the world as this year’s edition is expected to host no fewer than 4,831 exhibitors at Medica as well as 724 at Compamed.

He also said that the latest reports from industry associations underscore the importance of Medica and Compamed as drivers for suppliers’ international business, adding that, “Those putting their business on a particularly broad footing across country borders find it easier to compensate for an unclear market and safety situation in specific countries.”

Spokesperson for the organisation, Akhigbe Itua said: “The world is growing swiftly; technology develops every day, population growth is becoming faster than expected, there is increase in health awareness, these and other issues are putting demands on the industry  from every point of view. As the premier event in the sector, Medica, holding at the same time with Compamed will position itself at the crux of these challenges”.

Itua also said his organisation would support Nigerian visitors to the fairs assisting them in the areas of consular support, flight bookings, accommodation, entry tickets, and local transfers and other services.

He noted that the fairs would be focusing on electromedicine and medical technology, laboratory equipment, diagnostics, physiotherapy or Orthopaedic technology, commodities and consumer goods, information and Communication technology, medical services and publications as well as pioneering development in the field of telemedicine and medical information system.

As part of measures to improve on the fairs, Itua said the organisation has developed its Medica Education Conference to offer impressive multi-disciplinary programme, adding further that its International Conference on Disaster and Military Medicine (DIMIMED), registered a further increase in participants with high-ranking representatives from the armed forces of over 20 nations, among other new initiatives.
