Former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, is heartbroken by the demise of the pioneer civilian governor of Bayelsa State, Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha.

Senator Mark in a condolence message to the people of the state and the family on Sunday lamented the untimely death of Alamieyeseigha whom he described as an astute politician who was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP).

The immediate past Senate President noted that though Alamieyeseigha had not too rosy political career judging from his travails, he none the less left an indelible mark as a political colossus.

According to Mark “DSP Alamieyeseigha was a man who identified with his people.

He was in more than equal proportion loved by his people. No wonder he was crowned as the Governor- General of Ijaw nation”.

He deeply sympathised with the immediate family, people of Bayelsa state, the Ijaw nation  and Nigerians at large for the sad loss, saying “he played his part with great passion and commitment”.

Senator Mark noted that although Alamieyeseigha had a brief stint as a governor, his legacies cannot be diminished pointing out that he laid the foundation upon which succeessive administrations in the state built on.
